Baby, You’re 4 Months Old!

Baby, you’re 4 months old! You are getting cuter by the day and we are loving seeing your little personality develop.

Here are some of the milestones we have hit this month:

Not long after turning 3 months you gave us your first giggle. It was simply the most beautiful sound there ever was. Mama got emotional (and I’m pretty sure Daddy did too!)

You’ve always been such a curious little boy, taking in every sight and sound in the big wide world around you. Then this month you started grabbing! Mama prefers it when you grab your toys rather than her hair.. but you’re still learning so it’s okay. You love this light up bunny which we bought you as you’ve always been so fascinated by the lights at Hartbeeps.

Just look at that concentration face, tongue poking out – you get that from your Daddy!

We have seen an unbelievable amount of dribble over the past couple of weeks (lots of washing for Mama) and you’re always trying to cram your little fists into your mouth. This must mean one thing – your first tooth may be on it’s way! It’s horrible seeing you all uncomfortable and frustrated, but we make sure you have lots to chomp on.

Since just a few weeks old you have hated being held like a newborn baby, always wanting to be upright so you can have a look around. This month we tried the bumbo! You love sitting in there to watch ‘In The Night Garden‘ before bed (even if after a few minutes you do end up slumped to one side a little bit.)

More ‘firsts’ this month

Things you love

  • Flapping your arms and legs around on your playmat
  • Bathtime
  • Being lifted up (Super-Jacob)

  • Naptime (you fight it so hard – don’t want to miss out on anything!)
  • The sun in your eyes (are you sure you’re not a vampire?)
  • Having scratch mitts on (we just don’t want you to look like you’ve been attacked by the cat!)

Weight: At exactly 16 weeks old you doubled your birth weight! 14lbs 2 oz

Feeds: Five 7oz bottles per day

Sleep: 7pm – 7am (on a good night.. give or take.. fingers crossed this doesn’t jinx it)  although learning to take your dummy out means you sometimes wake Mummy and Daddy up extra early to put it back in.

Can’t wait to see what the next month has in store.

We love you xxx

(I decided to start documenting JJ’s monthly development as I have seen a few other Mummy bloggers doing the same thing. I think it’s such a beautiful idea and will be lovely to look back on in the months and years to come.)
